KATHMANDU, Feb 27: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has opened applications for 140 volunteers (city volunteers).
The selected volunteers will have to dedicate two days a week for 24 weeks to volunteering

Engineer Shailendra Jha, a member of the Urban Planning Commission, said that the metropolis is going to recruit 100 children and environment volunteers under the volunteer program and 40 volunteers for the youth and children program.
Jha said that under the volunteer program, they should work together with partners and communities in the areas of urban environment, green and beautiful schools, heritage and tourism.
Applicants are required to complete a form with their name, surname, and permanent or temporary address, and indicate their area of interest. The available categories for selection include environment and children, youth and children, and heritage.
The metropolis has also requested that applicants submit a brief statement of up to 200 words explaining their motivation for wanting to volunteer in their chosen area.
