KATHMANDU, May 2 : The government is introducing a startup program targeting the Gen-Z generation in the upcoming Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26.
President Ramchandra Paudel made the announcement while presenting the government’s annual policies and programs in parliament.

President Paudel stated that the plan will prioritize youth-led enterprises by establishing clear business models and supportive ecosystems. “A startup program focused on the Gen-Z generation will be launched by identifying business plans and ecosystems across industries,” he said.
The government also emphasized employment generation through entrepreneurship, announcing plans to revamp current education systems to better align with entrepreneurial skills and labor market needs. “Entrepreneurship-friendly education will help address the gap between skilled and unskilled labor,” the President added.
The initiative aims to create domestic job opportunities and increase income through innovation-driven ventures.
