Greenovation Startup Challenge targets green business ideas

KATHMANDU, Sept 28: Budding entrepreneurs with eco-minded startup ideas can now apply for the Greenovation Startup Challenge (GSC). 


The startup competition is jointly organized by World Wildlife Fund Nepal’s the Generation Green campaign and Nepal Entrepreneurs’ Hub (NEHUB).

The competition’s goal is to cultivate and promote socially responsible entrepreneurship from young innovators, the organizers said in an official statement. It is taking applications until September 30 from entrepreneurs who fall inside the 18-26 age bracket. 


Shortlisted candidates will first go through a month long training session, where they will get to learn mainly about green innovation and social entrepreneurship along with other essential startup development strategies.    


Once the participants complete their mentorship, they will contest in a final 54 hour long weekend from November 18 to November 20 to exhibit their ideas in. Top three winners in the final competition will get Rs 150,000 each as seed money to support their businesses.
