KATHMANDU, Sept 25: The government has established a reconstruction fund to rebuild the structures damaged during the Gen Z movement on September 8 and 9.
According to the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the meeting of the Council of Ministers on September 21 issued the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Committee (Formation) Order 2025, in this regard. The MoF has established a 'Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund' in line for the reconstruction of physical structures damaged by fire and vandalism during the movement, economic revival and relief, among other tasks, reads a MoF press release on Wednesday.

Joint Secretary and Spokesperson for the MoF, Tanka Prasad Pandey, said that the fund has been established to make the reconstruction and repair, economic revival, relief and rehabilitation related work immediately and effectively by arranging the necessary financial resources for the reconstruction of public and government physical structures damaged by the movement.
The Government of Nepal has called on everyone to participate in the great campaign of national reconstruction by making invaluable contributions from the federal government, provincial governments and local levels, the private sector, domestic and foreign citizens, non-resident Nepali communities, friendly countries, development partners and international organizations.
The financial assistance amount of the individuals can be deducted from the contributor's taxable income for the current fiscal year.
The MoF has stated that the amount can be deposited in the 'Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund' account number 1960100102070004 at the Singha Durbar branch of Rastriya Banijya Bank.
