She said the government is constantly in touch and taken up the matter with the government of India regarding the attacks targeted at Nepali people living and working in those areas. [break]
"Nepal government regrets the incidents of killings and eviction of the people from Nepali-origin," Koirala said at the parliament meeting on Tuesday. "Also the government is constantly monitoring and closely assessing the situation there."
Koirala briefed the parliament about the situation of Nepalis in the eastern part of India as Speaker Subas Nembang on Monday directed the minister to address the concerns raised by lawmakers in the House meetings.
At least 19 Nepalis have been killed and over 40,000 others displaced in a communal violence perpetrated by ethnic Khasi community in Meghalaya.
