KATHMANDU, May 9:  The government will not increase the salaries of civil servants and social security allowances in this fiscal year.

Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat clarified that the salaries of government employees and social security allowances will not be increased. He indicated that the salaries and social security allowance cannot be increased this year as the country’s economy is facing a crisis, revenue collection is low and the resources with the government are limited.
