KATHMANDU, Sept 30: The government has developed an “Automatic Surveyor Deputation System” to automate the assignment of surveyors for assessing losses related to insurance claims.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, data on all insurance surveyors have already been entered into the system. It will select surveyors based on factors such as expertise, availability, geographical location, seniority and existing workload.
Surveyors will be assigned automatically according to predetermined criteria. The system is also designed to identify and prevent situations in which the same surveyors repeatedly receive assignments while others are denied adequate opportunities.
Authorities will be able to track how many assignments each surveyor has received, which cases have been completed and whether a surveyor is available to take on new work.
The Prime Minister’s Office expects the automated system to improve transparency in surveyor deployment while reducing the time and cost involved in processing insurance claims.
