KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said that the role of insurance surveyors is important. In a program organized by Nepal Insurance Surveyor Association, Minister Mahat said, "Even though it started long ago, insurance has not become a common topic for Nepal. The idea that it is needed to reduce risk has not yet been developed.  There persists a prevailing sentiment of 'I won't encounter any issues, so why bother with insurance?'"

Minister Dr Mahat pointed out that understanding the need for insurance is crucial. "Whether it's about our lives or other risks, it's important to realize that problems can arise anytime," he said, "We need to spread the word that insurance can help tackle big problems that might come our way. He also mentioned a problem: insurance companies sometimes hesitate to help when there's an emergency. This makes it hard for people who want insurance to get the help they need.

He stressed the importance of adopting a more professional approach to address these issues. "We need to transform the way the authority operates to solve these problems," Minister Mahat said.

"Insurance companies advertise to gather resources, but when it's time to pay, issues arise, that's where a neutral server comes in. If there's an unbiased system in place, it will be more effective,” Minister Mahat said, “These servers play a crucial role. It's essential to solve problems fairly and without influence. With a transparent system, no one can manipulate it. This will elevate the insurance sector to new heights.”
