Govt decision to mandate vaccination cards for access to public services challenged at Supreme Court

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Advocate Sallu Tiwari and law student Sabin Pokhrel have filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against the government's decision to provide public services only to the people having a vaccination card.

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Advocate Sallu Tiwari and law student Sabin Pokhrel have filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court against the government's decision to provide public services only to the people having a vaccination card. 


Stating that many normal people have been deprived of basic public services due to the government's ‘inconsiderate’ decision of making vaccination cards mandatory although the whole population has not received the vaccine. The writ petition alleges that the government's decision violates fundamental human rights.

Earlier, the government had decided to bar people without vaccination cards from entering public service offices, depriving many people of government services from January 14.
