Govt claims to have settled dues as contractors vow protests

Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel on Sunday said the government has cleared all the outstanding dues of the construction entrepreneurs at a time the contractors have announced protests.

KATHMANDU, Jan 20: Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel on Sunday said the government has cleared all the outstanding dues of the construction entrepreneurs at a time the contractors have announced protests.


Speaking at a press meet organized by the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Paudel said that the government settled all the outstanding dues that the contractors have claimed. “Now, there is no meaning of threatening the government with protests,” Paudel said.

Citing the delays over the outstanding dues for the completed construction projects by the government, the Federation of Contractors’ Associations of Nepal has declared phased protests starting from January 31.
