Government decides to withdraw bill related to Constitutional Council

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The government has withdrawn the First Amendment to the Constitutional Council Bill, 2079 (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures), which was submitted to the parliament.

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The government has withdrawn the First Amendment to the Constitutional Council Bill, 2079 (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures), which was submitted to the parliament.


This decision was taken by a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on February 16. Announcing the decision of the Council of Ministers on Friday, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, who is also the government’s spokesperson, said that the First Amendment to the Constitutional Council Bill, 2079 (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures), has been withdrawn and will be submitted during the meeting of the House of Representatives on the February 22.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting approved the establishment of industrial villages in 8 places including Mandan Deupur-6, Bethanchok-2, Likhu-4, Raghuganga-2, Tatopani-4, Riddhikot-3, Ruru-4 and Api Himal-4.  


According to Minister Sharma, the government has approved a delegation led by the foreign minister to participate in the 52nd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from February 27 to March 2, 2023. 


Teh cainet meeting also decided to hand over 416 bighas of public land in the then Letang VDC of Morang district to the police for a lease of 30 years.
