Silver price hit record high of Rs 4,080 per tola

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the market price of gold increased to Rs 258,400 from Rs 256,600 per tola when the market closed the previous week. On the first two weekdays, the precious yellow metal increased Rs 2,200 and Rs 1,900 a tola, respectively, while the domestic market price reached the record high of Rs 260,700 per tola on Monday.
On Tuesday, the price fell by Rs 1,700 followed by an increase of Rs 700 on each of the next two days. On the last two days of the week, the price of the precious metal again declined Rs 2,000.
The gold price in the international market last week was affected by multiple factors. According to the FENEGOSIDA, the gold price fluctuated due to a lower inflation rate in the US economy than expected, the Federal Reserve signaling a cut down in interest rate due to controlled price hike triggered by the US tariff lines and increasing attraction of investors on bullion with arriving New Year 2026.
Along with gold, the price of silver also hit the record high of Rs 4,080 per tola on Thursday. Overall, the price climbed to Rs 4,005 from Rs 3,348, adding Rs 657 per tola in the review period.
