KATHMANDU, July 10: Ganesh Nepali, who sustained critical burn injuries after attempting self-immolation in Kathmandu on Thursday, died while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital on Friday.
Nepali, 25, from Soru Rural Municipality-1 in Mugu, succumbed to his injuries during treatment, Dr Apar Lamichhane, a burn and plastic surgeon at Bir Hospital, told Republica.

The government had planned to airlift Nepali to India for advanced treatment on Thursday night. However, the plan was called off after his condition deteriorated further, with doctors advising that he was too unstable to be transferred.
According to Bir Hospital, Nepali had undergone his first surgery, but his condition showed no signs of improvement.
