KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The Ganesh Man Singh Foundation is set to organize the Bir Ganesh Man Singh Memorial national boxing tournament from March 31 to April 4.
In a press meet held in Kathmandu on Sunday, the organizers informed that this year's event features six different categories for women and eight for men.

Women boxers will participate in 48, 51, 54, 57, 60 and 64 Kg categories whereas men boxers will compete in 49, 52, 56, 60, 64, 69, 75 and 81 Kg. Athletes from seven provinces and three departmental teams will participate in the event, stated Sanjiv Tuladhar, the coordinator of the foundation.
Biratnagar, Pokhara and Dhangadhi will host the qualifying rounds for the Province 1, Gandaki Province and Sudur Paschim Province. Kathmandu will host the qualifying rounds for Bagmati Province and Province 2. Likewise, Nepalgunj will host the same for Karnali Province and Province 5.
The winner of each category will get Rs 25,000 whereas the first and second runner-ups will bag Rs 15,000 and Rs 7,500. The best boxer in the men's and women's category will receive a motor-bike and a scooter respectively.
