You are launching Galaxy J5 and J7 in the mid-range segment. What are your expectations from these phones?
Demand as well as the market of mid-range smartphones is comparatively higher in Nepal. With the launch of Galaxy J5 and J7, we aim to offer the best option to customers in the mid-range segment. With these two phones, we aim to give an uncompromising smartphone experience to our valued customers. We are optimistic that these two phones will lead the mid-range segment in Nepal's smartphone market and help to fortify Samsung's presence in the segment and in the overall smartphone market.
What makes these phones stand out in the crowded mid-range segment?
Both the smartphones come with powerful specifications and incorporates all those features that a smartphone user looks for. Consumers primarily look for display, processor and the camera. Galaxy J5 and J7 features 5-inch and 5.5-inch HD Super Amoled display to redefine mobile using experience of customers. Similarly, both the smartphones come with powerful processors -- J5 uses 1.2 GHz quad-core processor while the J7 comes loaded with 1.5 GHz octa-core Exynos processor. Talking about camera, we are hopeful that Galaxy J5 and J7 will redefine the selfie experience of users as both the phone offers 5-megapixel front camera with a front-facing flash -- the first time in its segment. Likewise, these phones have 13-megapixel primary cameras. All these features make these phones special in the market.
Who are the targeted customers of your new phones?
These smartphones are basically targeted to mid-range customers who are looking to upgrade to high-end featured smartphones. As both the phones incorporate many features which were not available in smartphones in this segment previously, we are hopeful that customers will like these phones.
Can you tell us with which phones the Galaxy J5 and J7 will be competing with?
Both of these mid-range phones are competitive in terms of price and features. As these phones are available in competitive price of Rs 21,900 (Galaxy J5) and Rs 25,900 (Galaxy J7) and come loaded with different high-end features, they don't have any competitor in their segments.
These smartphones come with 'Handful of Joy' slogan, meaning that it satisfies users from every perspective.
What are your strategies to broaden the horizons of Samsung mobile phones in Nepal?
As the demand for phones priced between Rs 7,000 and Rs 30,000 is very high in Nepal, we will be focusing on this price range in the future. We are committed to provide the best featured phone within this segment.
Besides, expanding distribution network to remote parts of the country is our other priority. Meanwhile, we have also started EMI on mid-range phones now which was previously available only on high-end phones.
