KANCHANPUR, Belauri, Feb 5: Senior Leader of the Nepali Congress and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said we should go for election if the constitution is not drafted by May 27.

Deuba said this while speaking at a press meet organized at Bhimduttanagar, the district headquarters of Kanchanpur on Sunday. [break]

He said we should not extend the CA term again and again. If constitution is not drafted, there is no alternative to go for another election, he added.

The NC leader also accused that the State Restructuring Commission had hindered the constitution drafting. Dispute has been arisen among parties over the restructuring because of the commission, he said.

He accused of efforts being made to provoke ethnic unrest by dividing Kailali and Kanchanpur, adding a state should be made by incorporating Karnali and Bheri in the far west.

Congress should lead to free the country from being a prisoner of indecision, he said.

On Congress dispute, he said "We cannot say all debates have ended now". Deuba also called for action on the guilty of deforestation in the Chure region.

Meanwhile, the Save Hindu Campaign Nepal has urged Deuba to stop excesses on Nepalese in the border areas by the Indian SSB.

It also called on him not to split the nine districts of the far west while forming states, and warned of countering it if the region is divided.
