KATHMANDU, Oct 23: Leader of the main opposition Nepali Congress Gagan Thapa has remarked that there is no good reason to be exhilarated over the performance of the Oli-led government.
Speaking at a program in the capital on Wednesday, he argued that the government is failing to live up to the people's expectations although it commands a two-thirds majority in the Federal Parliament.
Finance minister willing to help local entrepreneurs
Thapa, who is also the former Minister for Health, claimed that PM KP Oli couldn’t accelerate development activities largely because of the dismal performance of Minister for Finance Dr Yubraj Khatiwada.
“Khatiwada has projected himself like the Governor of Nepal Rashtra Bank rather than as the finance minister, which I regard as one of the reasons behind sluggish pace of economic development after the current government came into being,” added Thapa.
