KATHMANDU, May 18: With 53 new cases Monday afternoon, Nepal's COVID-19 tally soared to 357, the Ministry of Health and Population said.
According to Dr Bikash Devkota, spokesperson for the ministry, Banke district alone reported 47 new cases - 46 males and 1 female - whose swab samples tested positive for the novel coronavirus at the Bheri Hospital lab.

Similarly, a patient each from Morang, Dhanusha, Rautahat, Dang, Dhading and Gulmi were also diagnosed with this viral disease on Monday itself. As of Monday, two fatalities have been reported while 36 of the total patients have already recovered from the disease.
