One-way traffic begins in eight road sections
KATHMANDU, Oct 9: The five sections of various major highways that were blocked by floods and landslides due to heavy rainfall from September 26 to September 28 remain blocked as of Wednesday.
Police have reported that although more than four dozen road sections blocked by floods and landslides have been opened, five road sections still remain completely blocked.

According to Nepal Police, vehicular one-way traffic has been opened on eight other road sections. The Central Police Spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Dan Bahadur Karki, stated that efforts to reopen the blocked roads are still underway.
According to the report released by Nepal Police, the Charauase section of the BP Highway in Roshi, Kavrepalanchowk, has been completely blocked since September 27.
Police have reported that the Byakure section of the same highway, the Selegahat section in Manthali Municipality-6 of Ramechhap, the Ramechhap-Sindhuli-Khurkot section of Bhotekoshi, the Barabise-Tatopani road of Bhotekoshi and the Baluwa section of the Jaya Prithvi Highway in Bajhang are completely blocked.
According to the police, one-way traffic has been opened on the Lele-Tikabhairav section in Godavari, the Tinghare section of the Mid-Hill Highway in Tehrathum, the Ramite section of the Mechi Highway in Phidim, Panchthar and the Kanti Highway in Bhimphedi.
The police have said that one-way traffic has been opened on the Kaladungga section of the BP Highway in Roshi, the Ghumaune-Hanuman Gadhi Keraghari section and the Benighat-Krishna Bhir section of the Prithvi Highway to facilitate transportation.
At least 246 people lost their lives in the recent water-induced disaster and 18 others are still missing.
