TAPLEJUNG, Dec 28: A fire that broke out on Wednesday morning in Ward No-1 Thinglabu, Meringden Rural Municipality, Taplejung, destroyed three houses.
According to the a local teacher, Ganesh Aveng, the houses of Bhaktaraj Chongwang, Bal Bahadur Chongwang and Birdhwaj Chongwang were gutted in the fire. The fire broke out at around 8 in the morning.

According to him, Bhaktaraj and Bal Bahadur's 3-story houses were made of stone and mud and Birdhwaj's 2-storey house has been completely burnt down. District Police Office Taplejung said a police team has been dispatched from Santhakra Police Station for an investigation into the incident.
