Forest fire rages through village gutting three houses in Solukhumbu and Khotang

KHOTANG, April 9: Three houses in Khotang and Solukhumbu districts have been gutted after the fire that broke out at the surrounding forest raged through the houses in the settlement area.

KHOTANG, April 9: Three houses in Khotang and Solukhumbu districts have been gutted after the fire that broke out at the surrounding forest raged through the houses in the settlement area.


The fire had started from Babiyokharka Community Forestry and Tasare Juware Community Forestry located in Aiselukharka rural municipality of Khotang district.

Three houses caught fire after the fire started from there raged through the settlement area. The owners of the gutted houses have been identified as Santosh Giri of Jaleswori, Ram Kumar Giri and Ambar Gurung of Jubu, Solukhumbu.


The fire started at noon on Saturday  at the area connecting Khotang and Solukhumbu districts reached the settlement area, according to Khotang District Police. Tek Bahadur Gurung, a local of Jubu, sustained serious injuries while attempting to douse the fire. Solukhumbu District Police said it had not received details about the fire incident.  


The local police personnel are trying to the best of their ability to contain the fire that has taken the form of inferno.
