FinMin announces Rs 500 million to enhance Melamchi Water Supply

KATHMANDU, May 28: The government has set a goal to improve distribution of drinking water in areas outside the ring road in Kathmandu Valley in the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25. Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun announced this initiative while presenting the budget in a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday.

To support this goal, Finance Minister Pun revealed that Rs 500 million has been allocated for the Melamchi Water Supply Project. This funding aims to make water supply more effective and accessible to residents outside the ring road, addressing the water scarcity issues in these areas.
