Pushpa Kumari Raut (Kajal), 14, from Saraswati Tole, Biratnagar-7 had gone to Jogbani with friends Poonam Shrestha and Meena Shrestha. Maternal relatives of the Shresthas in Jogbani claim that Kajal had diarrhea and passed out in the night and her father Shyam Singh Raut cremated her without letting the police know about it. [break]
Kajal was staying with her security guard father and elder brother Pritam as her mother Kamala Raut works in Saudi Arabia and elder sister Rajani Maharjan was in Kathmandu. Pritam claims that the Shresthas forced Kajal to sleep with one Deepak Shrestha, on the second night. "Deepak murdered her after rape," Kajal´s sister Rajani claimed.
"I did not want her to be cremated before an autopsy was conducted as I found the statement of the Shrestha friends inconsistent and also the state of body suspicious but everybody insisted that it would be sinful to return the body from crematorium," Rajani added.
Though Shrestha siblings claim that Kajal died of diarrhea and nausea they have admitted that Deepak was with Kajal the night she was killed. Morang DSP Rewati Dhakal said the police have been trying to nab Deepak.
