KATHMANDU, March 5: Lawmaker in the Provincial Assembly of Province 3, Narottam Baidya, has demanded the government to form a high-level judicial committee under the leadership of the incumbent or former justice to launch a fair probe into the Air Dynasty chopper crash in Taplejung last week.
Issuing a press release, Baidya expressed doubt that the crash might have been pre-planned.
"What forced the pilot to change his decision abruptly even though he was saying he was not able to take off citing bad weather? Why the aviation rule was not followed? It has raised a big question mark," Baidya said in the press statement.
The provincial assembly lawmaker has also raised question over the panel formed by the government to investigate the incident.
"It is very unfortunate that an incumbent tourism minister and six others lost their lives in the chopper crash. A mere government panel may not bring the truth to the people. Hence, the judicial commitee should be formed under the leadership of incumbent or former justice," he added.
