NEPSE falls 8.14 points, turnover drops to Rs 3.90 billion

The market drop was led mainly by losses in most subgroups, except hotels & tourism and manufacturing, which saw mixed performance. Finance and trading sectors recorded the sharpest declines, falling by 1.45 percent and 1.23 percent respectively.

KATHMANDU, June 11: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined on Thursday, falling by 8.14 points to close at 2,728.03.



The market drop was led mainly by losses in most subgroups, except hotels & tourism and manufacturing, which saw mixed performance. Finance and trading sectors recorded the sharpest declines, falling by 1.45 percent and 1.23 percent respectively.


Out of the total traded companies, 179 saw their share prices decline, while 81 advanced and 13 remained unchanged. Septakoshi Development Bank recorded the highest loss, with its share price falling by 13.51 percent.

Despite the decline in the index, two companies—recent IPO entrants Apollo Hydropower and Sopan Pharmaceuticals—hit the positive circuit.


Turnover also dropped compared to the previous session. The market recorded Rs 3.90 billion in transactions, down from Rs 4.29 billion on Wednesday.


City Hotel led the turnover chart with Rs 236.3 million in shares traded, followed by Central Finance with Rs 175.6 million, Bungol Hydropower with Rs 164.5 million, and Peoples Hydropower with Rs 159 million.
