KATHMANDU, Dec 8: Authorities have begun excavating nine ancient wells in the Pashupati area to reintroduce them to the public.
Though various books have mentioned the presence of nine wells in the Pashupati area, highlighting their archaeological, historical, religious, cultural, and tourism significance, they had been lost over time. After growing complaints about the disappearance of these historically important wells, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-8, with support from the Department of Archaeology, initiated efforts to excavate and conserve them.
