Since then many individuals and organizations have come forward to support Puja and her sisters. Speaking to Republica, KC said the wide array of fundamental rights enshrined in the constitution appear more like decorative rights. “The government lacks required resources to fulfill all the fundamental rights of the people,” said KC. The former justice said he was heartbroken after reading about Pooja’s struggle and wanted to make a small contribution to improve her life.
KC says that there are probably thousands of Poojas across the country and he thanked Republica for bringing out her story. On the same note, KC stressed that parents who elope and leave behind their children should be punished. He said he wants to see the political leadership and those in government become more sensitive to the sufferings of the common people.
