EU envoy presents credentials

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Newly appointed Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation to Nepal Dr Alexander Spachis presented his credentials to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at a special function organised at the President´s Office on Sunday.



Dr Spachis is the first fully accredited Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal, said a statement issied by the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal.



Until now, the Kathmandu office, established in 2002, was a Delegation of the European Commission under the supervision of a non-resident Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Commission based in New Delhi.



The EU comprises 27 democratic European countries.
