KATHMANDU, May 11: Ambassador of Nepal to India, Dr Shankar Sharma presented his credentials to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind amidst a special function at the President’s Office on Wednesday.
In a social media post after presenting his credentials to the Indian head of state, Ambassador Dr Sharma said he looks forward to taking the strong, age-old ties between Nepal and India to new heights.

President Bhandari on the recommendation of the government appointed economist and former US envoy Dr Sharma as the country’s new Ambassador to India on March 20. President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dr Sharma at a special function organized at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas on March 25.
This comes ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Nepal on May 16. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to attend a special function being organized in Lumbini – the birth place of lord Buddha – on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
