KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae have held talks at the former's residence in Lazimpat on Tuesday.

The meeting between Dahal and Rae has taken place one day after Dahal's cutting comment that India is not a 'trustworthy' nation.

In the meeting, diplomat Rae assured Dhala that blockade would end if deal reached among the political leaders. The meeting had focused on the blockade, Madhes unrest and progress in the talks among the political parties.

Dahal had urged Rae to end the blockade at the earliest. In response, Rae had said that the blockade would end as soon as the agreement among the parties is forged, reads the Dahal's website.

On Monday, at the UCPN (Maoist) central party office in Peris Danda, Chairman Dahal had commented that India is not a dependable nation despite some green signals of lifting blockade following constitution amendment.

"Following foreign minister's twice visit to India, we were optimistic that the blockade would be lifted but it did not happen in reality. We were further stunned when it did not materialize even after the amendment of the constitution. That is why it is difficult to count on India," Dahal had said.
