KATHMANDU, March 19: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized the Closing and Prize Distribution Ceremony of “8th Edition of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2023”on Saturday.

According to a press statement issued by the Embassy, the event started on March 10 and 12 teams participated in the tournament. The chief guest of the event, former foreign minister Ramesh Nath Pandey awarded ‘Himalaya Shumsher Rana Trophy’ to the winning team of the Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament.

This year, Pulsar Cricket Excellence Center, Kathmandu, won the 8th edition of Nepal-Pakistan T20 Cricket Tournament-2023, while the Embassy of Pakistan Team was the tournament’s runner-up, as per the statement.

Charge d` Affaires at the Embassy of Pakistan, Umair Ali expressed the hope that this tournament will serve as a stepping stone for greater cooperation and collaboration between Pakistan and Nepal in all areas of mutual interest. He reiterated the Pakistan Embassy’s commitment to continue to encourage efforts to bring the youths of the two countries together by organizing such healthy sports events.

Chen Song, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Kathmandu and a few members of diplomatic missions based in Kathmandu also attended the event.
