8th edition of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2023 kicks off

KATHMANDU, March 10: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized the inaugural ceremony of 8th edition of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2023 in the capital today.

KATHMANDU, March 10: The Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu organized the inaugural ceremony of 8th edition of Nepal-Pakistan Friendship T20 Cricket Tournament-2023 in the capital today.


According to a statement issued by the Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, the event was inaugurated by former Deputy Prime Minister CP Mainali. Binaya Raj Pandey, former President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), attended the event as the Special Guest.

Addressing the ceremony, Mainali appreciated the embassy’s initiative for successfully organizing the event every year. He highlighted the potential of cricket and sports in bringing youths of two countries together. 


Similarly, Former President of CAN Pandey said, “The efforts of the Pakistan Embassy in organizing such events not only strengthens the bilateral ties between the two countries but also serve as an opportunity to enhance sports activities amongst youngsters.”


A total of 12 cricket teams are participating in the nine-day event. The tournament is scheduled to conclude on March 18. The event will be streamed live on ‘Action Sports’ in Nepal.
