EIA report of Madan Bhandari University prepared

KATHMANDU, June 8: The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report of Madan Bhandari University construction has been prepared. The Ministry of Forest and Environment issued a notice on Wednesday stating that the EIA report of the university construction has been prepared.


The EIA report of Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology, which is to be built in Thaha municipality of Makwanpur district, has invited suggestions for improvement.

According to the report, it is mentioned that the building area of the proposed university will be 200 rooms of 223,000 square meters. It is said that some 4,000 students will be able to study at the university.


Its infrastructure includes an academic building, communal building, dormitory, accommodation for 607 employees, 40-room guest house, 25-bed hospital, school and access road.


It is mentioned that out of the total area required for the project of 50.52 hectares, 41.29 hectares are forest area and the remaining 9.23 hectares are university land. It is mentioned in the report that 547,500 liters of water will be consumed daily.


The construction cost of this university project is estimated to be 376 million dollars i.e. 49.26 billion rupees. The government announced through the budget to advance the construction phase of this project.
