KATHMANDU, Jan 3: On December 31, 2023, Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology (MBUST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN) for collaboration between the two institutions. The MOU was signed by Prof Rajendra Dhoj Joshi, president of Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology (MBUST), and Lochan Lal Amatya, chairman of Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN).
According to a statement issued by the institution, this MOU will open a global knowledge platform for the students and researchers at MBUST. For the development of a national computational grid, this will help link high-speed research and education networks. The network will also connect universities, colleges, and research institutions to both national and global networks.

The institution hopes that the MoU will further promote advanced research in networking technologies and the development of high-performance broadband applications. This collaboration will address research resource constraints by providing the infrastructure that supports and provides connectivity solutions for knowledge and information. This collaboration will further open partnerships and sharing between universities, capacity building of faculties, and exposure to global ICT initiatives for the scholars of Nepal through MBUST.
