KATHMANDU, Sept. 29: The Election Commission (EC) has made public a work schedule calling for all political parties registering candidacy under the proportional election system to submit application to that end on Monday.

According to EC Spokesperson Bir Bahadur Rai, the political parties interested to take part in the proportional election system are publicly requested to nominate their candidacy in the first round tomorrow.  [break]

The call is made as per the provision that a political party, which does not register nomination, will not be able to participate in the proportional election system.

The registration will be open during the office time tomorrow.

Spokesperson Rai further said that the nomination process has been set to facilitate the political parties and candidates taking part in the proportional election.

Likewise, the EC will publish the name list after screening nominations submitted by the political parties on coming Tuesday.

An arrangement has been made that the political parties wishing to withdraw their candidacy could drop their nomination on Wednesday.

Election symbols will be offered for the candidates under proportional system on Thursday, Rai informed.

The EC has urged all political parties to register their nomination in a civilized and dignified manner.
