DV Education Group hosts fourth edition of Saksham Nari to help empowers women

KATHMANDU, April 2: Saksham Nari 4.0, an initiative launched by DV Education Group to help empower and uplift women, concluded with a grand success in the capital on Saturday.


Organized at the College of Management in New Baneshwor, the event brought together women from diverse backgrounds eager to enhance their skills and knowledge in collaboration with Sungabha Nepal, Saathi NGO and Project Smile. The initiative was supported by various other organizations including ABC Nepal NGO, Get NGO, La Dhoka Nari Ghar, Opportunity Village Nepal, Fun Play Learn NGO and Unatti Foundation.


Saksham Nari 4.0, which began on March 26, provided numerous opportunities for women's growth and development, according to the organizer.


One of the major highlights of the event included a workshop on pastry and bakery, which was hosted by DV Education's Shubhashree College of Management, in partnership with Vivanta Kathmandu. The workshop offered hands-on experience and insights into the culinary arts.

The event also featured a training session on makeup and personal Grooming. The session was conducted by Beauty Bar and Academy, empowering women with enhanced self-confidence and professional skills.


Similarly, essential CPR and first aid training, which was provided by Triton SS & College, alongside the National Cancer Hospital and Research, equipped women with life-saving skills for effective emergency response.


The event also offered montessori training by Triton Secondary School, emphasizing the importance of early childhood education and nurturing future generations.


Furthermore, the reach of Saksham Nari 4.0 expanded to Dhulikhel, as DV Education's Shepherd College Of Media Technology partnered with Dhulikhel Municipality. Local women were provided with opportunities for digital literacy and entrepreneurship empowerment as a part of the collaboration.


This event marks a significant milestone as the largest CSR initiative organized by an education group in Nepal, symbolizing a collective commitment to women's empowerment and community development. Over 120 women participated, unlocking new opportunities and realizing their full potential through skill development workshops.


The closing ceremony of the event had the presence of notable figures including Santosh Pandey, CEO of Oho Cake; Renuka Manandhar, Managing Director at Sungabha Nepal; Nida Doon-Malla, Consultant at NDM Corporate Solutions and Usha Khadgi, Miss Nepal 2000. Certificates were distributed to participants, followed by a tribute to partnering NGOs. 


‘Our aim from these CSR initiatives is Financial freedom for Nepali women," said Tarun Pratap Shah, Managing Director of DV Education Group.


Ishani Shrestha, Director DV Education Group,  said theircollaborative efforts aim to provide women with tools for thriving. "Saksham Nari 4.0 fosters a supportive environment through workshops and training, empowering women to achieve financial freedom and make impactful choices. Women possess transformative power, influencing households, families, and the economy positively," said Shrestha, who is also Miss Nepal 2013 and Miss World Beauty with a Purpose.
