DRI seizes 500 cartons of e-cigarettes from vape store in Imadol

After an extensive investigation, an operation was launched by DRI. Following that the raid was carried out with the assistance of the Armed Police Force. Preliminary findings show the vapes were imported from China via Rasuwa.

KATHMANDU, Jan 9: The Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) seized 500 cartons of illegally stored electronic cigarettes from a vape store in Imadol, Lalitpur. 


After an extensive investigation, an operation was launched by DRI. Following that the raid was carried out with the assistance of the Armed Police Force. Preliminary findings show the vapes were imported from China via Rasuwa.

Vape imports to Nepal have been relatively small due to high tariffs imposed on them. According to the Department of Customs, the first recorded vape import into Nepal was four years ago.
