KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha departed for China on Monday to participate in the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The event, scheduled to be held in Beijing on Tuesday and Wednesday, will cover topics such as the policy and progress of the 'High-Level Forum on Green Development,' and Shrestha is set to deliver an address during the program. Accompanying him is a seven-member delegation.
While in China, DPM Shrestha will also hold meetings with Wang Xiangxi, China's Public Security and Emergency Minister and member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of China.

Furthermore, he is scheduled to attend a dinner hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping on the first day of the conference, which will be attended by the heads of government and state from nearly three dozen countries.
The Belt and Road Forum (BRF) aims to review the implementation and progress of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), a significant international project initiated by China to foster sustainable development, cooperation among nations, the development of infrastructure, and environmental conservation.
The delegation accompanying Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha includes Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Home Ministry; Amrit Bahadur Rai, Joint Secretary of the Foreign Ministry; Anil Pokharel from the Disaster and Risk Reduction Authority, among others.
