The helicopter carrying Koirala had left for Kathmandu from Jajarkot but was forced to make emergency landing in Dang, according to the police.
Koirala had reached Jajarkot after inaugurating district convention of Nepal Student´s Union in Salyan on Sunday.
The helicopter landed safely at Nepal Army barrack at Bharatpur, Ghorahi. Five other persons were on board with Koirala.
