Diffusion notice against 8 Nepalis for human trafficking

KATHMANDU, Aug 2: The International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has issued Red Corner diffusion notice against eight Nepalis accused of human trafficking by alluring people for foreign jobs.

The intergovernmental organization facilitating international police cooperation issues such notice for assistance from foreign police organizations if the accused is hiding abroad.

Interpol issued the notice on request from Nepal Police for their arrest.

Red Corner notice has been issued against Parashuram Gurung, Kishore Rai, Om Prakash Gurung, Durga Niraula, Somnath Niraula, Anjanta Tuladhar Niraula, Binod Pandey and Sanjeev Mudbhari.

Most of them have been accused of duping people promising them of jobs in Thailand, USA, Korea, Afghanistan and European and African countries.

According to Interpol's Nepal-based coordination office, Parashuram and Kishore have been accused of inflicting mental torture after taking huge sum of money for jobs in hotels and airlines of Thailand, South Korea and Australia.

Red Corner notice was issued against Omprakash for swindling one Karunakar Ghimire for the amount of Rs 1.3 million.

Moreover, Nepal-based coordination office said Durga, Somnath and Anjanta are accused of making off millions by handing over duplicate agreement papers.

Likewise, the notice was issued against Sanjeev on request of Department of Foreign Employment for swindling Rs 6.5 million and against Pandey on a similar charge.
