Dhakal took the oath and signed the inaugural memorandum in the presence of witnesses Hendra P Iskandar, Head of Chancery of the Indonesian Embassy and Tri Surya, Counselor of the Embassy.
Staff of the Indonesian Embassy and representatives of the Indonesian community in Nepal were among those present on the occasion.
Diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Nepal were established in 1960. On the occasion, Zainuddin mentioned the cultural similarities between the two countries. Nepal´s trade deficit with Indonesia stands at around US$ 14 million.
