Dhading CDO reports landslides and fallen trees following earthquake

KATHMANDU, Oct 22: Badrinath Gaire, the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Dhading, has said that there have been reports of landslides and fallen trees in the wake of the earthquake this morning.


As of now, there have been no reports of human casualties or significant physical damage.

Gaire told Republica, "We have received information about a landslide and trees falling in certain areas. However, specific details about the extent of damage are yet to be ascertained. We are actively assessing the situation and have dispatched a police team to gather more information. Further updates will be provided once they arrive."


This information follows an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale, which shook the Kathmandu Valley earlier today, with its epicenter located near Khari in Dhading at 7:39 AM.
