He also claimed that if the Maoists do not express concrete commitment on complying with past agreements on peace process and constitution writing, alternatives would be considered.[break]
“Tomorrow, decisive talks will be held with Maoists on seven-point agreement and agreements reached during meetings of the Special Committee,” he said speaking at the Reporters’ Club. “If there is no progress, alternative will be considered.”
The former home minister also claimed that if the peace process is obstructed, Maoist Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai will lose the morality to remain in the post. “Prime Minister either should ensure progress in peace process or resign,” he said expressing his dissatisfaction over lack of implementation of Special Committee’s decision to bid farewell to combatants opting for voluntary retirement.
