Dead bodies of 12 Nepali migrant workers brought from Malaysia on Sunday

KATHMANDU, April 4: The dead bodies of as many as 12 Nepali migrant workers were brought in from Malaysia, one of the major labor destinations for Nepalis, on Sunday.


The mortal remains of 12 migrant workers were brought at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) via a Nepal Airlines flight.

According to the Airport administration, the mortal remains of youths from Mahottari (1), Nawalparasi (1) , Sarlahi (1), Gorkha (2), Bhojpur (1), Panchthar (1), Sunsari (2), Baglung (1), Banke (1) and Jhapa (1), who passed away at different times in the alien land, were brought on Sunday.


Former PM at TIA to receive dead bodies


Meanwhile, former prime minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai reached the TIA with the relatives of two migrant workers – Surya BK, 28, and Megh Bahadur Kunwar, 27 - from Gorkha who died in Malaysia.


Taking to Twitter after his visit to the TIA, Bhattarai wrote that it was a painful moment to have witnessed the bereaved condition of the relatives of the Nepali migrant workers who died abroad.
