KATHMANDU, May 28: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) inclined by 16.55 points to close at 2,692.18 points on Wednesday.
The secondary market opened at 2,675.63 points and plunged to the day’s low at 2,667.05 points in the first 44 minutes. The index witnessed nominal fluctuation for the next two and a half hours. In the last one hour, the market escalated by around 18 points before it closed for the day.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
Nine out of the 13 groups were gainers, with development banks adding the highest of 71.28 points. Of the losers, the non-life insurance index declined by the largest of 32.74 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, gained 3.95 points. Daily turnover amount increased to Rs 8.58 billion from Rs 6.52 billion on Tuesday.
Among the individual companies, 148 were gainers while 97 were the losers. Ngadi Group Power had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 1.05 billion.
Four companies including Om Meghashree Pharmaceuticals Limited was recorded as the topmost gainer. Barahi Hydropower Public Limited lost the largest of 5.26 percent of its market value.
