KATHMANDU, March 3: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday declined by 13.62 points to close at 2,876.66 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,890.28 points and hit the day’s high at 2,929.22 points in just four minutes of trading. However, the index gradually went down and reached as low as 2,868.19 points when the trading time was left for three minutes.

Only five out of thirteen groups were the gainers. Life insurance posted the largest gain of 113.21 points. Among the losing groups, hotels and tourism shed the highest of 133.09 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also lost 3.71 points. Daily turnover marginally increased, rising to Rs 14.28 billion from Rs 14.25 billion.
Among the individual companies, 51 were gainers while 187 were registered as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 1.38 billion.
Samaj Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was recorded as the highest loser. Guardian Micro Life Insurance Limited, by adding 10 percent in its market value, was listed as the topmost gainer.
