KATHMANDU, Nov 27: The CPN-UML is going to increase the size of its central committee. The last meeting of the present central committee held in Sauraha has decided to increase the number of office bearers including the central members. UML has stated that the number of members and office bearers has been increased to elect new leadership unanimously.
The 225 member central committee will be increased to 301 members and it has been decided to form a 99-member politburo.
CPN (Maoist Centre) to have 15 central office-bearers
Similarly, the forty-five member standing committee will stay the same. The UML commission will have 25 members. According to the proposal made by the party Chairman KP Sharma Oli, the number of office bearers will be increased as well. As a result, the total number of office bearers has increased from 15 to 19. Two vice-chairpersons and deputy general secretaries will each be added under the new arrangement. The party will have seven vice-chairpersons and three deputy general secretaries as a result of this.
Likewise, the secretariat will have 19 members. There was an arrangement to form a secretariat of five officials. As per the decision of the meeting, there will be a 301-member advisory council.
Chairman KP Sharma Oli's proposal for party unity has been unanimously passed by the Central Committee meeting.
Secretary and spokesperson of the party Pradip Gyawali informed that the legislative amendment proposal will be tabled in the closed session of the General Convention starting from today as per the decision of the Central Committee.
