Veteran Nepali artists have also expressed their pleasure at the prospect of the first National Film Award. Actor Bhuwan Chand, who starred in ‘Aama’, has her name firmly etched in the history of Nepali cinema. The award show also has a category in her name. ‘Bhuwan Best Actress’ is the category for which actresses will win the Best Actress Award. Chand said, “This is the biggest honor of my life and I feel very proud. Despite the government’s lack of interest, it’s wonderful that the private sector has taken up this work. This leaves the message that do good work does get recognized.”
In an event scheduled for the day after the award function, Nepal Tourism Board has tied up with the organizers to show the international film personalities that Nepal is also a good film destination. “NFDC has bought new and advanced equipments for digitalized filming.
