Controversy over security printing deal: Swiss Embassy says it has no connection with the local agent

KATHMANDU, Feb 20: Issuing a statement on Thursday, The Embassy of Switzerland in Kathmandu said that no local agent was in touch with embassy over the security press issue.


Responding to the news published on Republica Online today morning over Minister Gokul Baskota's alleged involvement in a bribery case, the embassy states "The Embassy of Switzerland in Nepal wishes to make clear that no meeting has been requested by the Embassy, nor in any meeting foreseen with the Minister for Information and Communication in the near future on the topic mentioned in the article."

In its statement, the embassy said that it is neither aware or nor involved in dealings of the person quoted in the article as local agent of a Swiss company.
