KHOTANG, June 12: The conflict that stemmed from a row over the removal of the rival party’s flag in Khotang district has come to an end after the conflicting sides reached an agreement to not reciprocate misbehavior from each other at the meeting held at District Administration Office facilitated by Chief District Officer.
Nepali Congress cadres had removed the flag of CPN-UML kept at the local’s house located in Dikuwa of Tuwachung Municipality on June 7. Likewise, UML cadres had reciprocated NC cadres’ action by replacing the flag of Nepali Congress(NC) in kept at the local’s house located in Chorambu of Dipung Municipality with UML’ flag on June 8.
Altercations took place after row over the removal of the rival party’s flag. Cadres from both sides sustained injuries in the altercation.
UML cadre Indra Tamang who is candidate for Ward chairperson sustained serious injuries in the incident. Likewise, NC cadre Arjun Raut was also injured in the incident.
According to Chief District Officer Prahlad Pokharel, the meeting was attended by representatives from Nepali Congress and CPN-UMl.
They agreed to provide compensation to the victims. They also agreed to not engage in altercations in the days to come.
